In observance of the 443rd founding anniversary of the city of Manila, Malacañang declared June 24 as a special non-working holiday.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” Proclamation No. 766 read.

The proclamation was signed last May 7 by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. by authority of President Benigno Aquino III.
